04/05/15

  • Ford Ranger widens the gap on Toyota Hilux
  • Ford is the one to watch in 2015 – Ford’s record year continues
  • New Zealand’s number one ute, the Ford Ranger, continues to be the Kiwi favourite in 2015, beating the competition handily and opening up the gap on Toyota Hilux in April sales.

    According to provisional April sales figures, the Ford Ranger was the top selling ute for the month with 487 sold which leaves its nearest competitor, the Hilux, trailing behind by more than 100 vehicles in the year to date figures.

    “We are of course heading into a very busy and highly competitive time for the ute market, with Fieldays coming up, so it’s great to see more people are choosing the best ute for their money – the Ford Ranger,” said Corey Holter, Managing Director Ford New Zealand.

    Award Winning
    In addition to being the number one ute in New Zealand, the Ford Ranger is also New Zealand’s most awarded truck, having won numerous accolades every year since launching in New Zealand, including these highly-coveted trophies;

  • NZ4WD Magazine’s “4WD Utility of the Year 2014
  • NZ4WD Magazine’s “OVERALL 4WD of the Year 2014
  • New Zealand Herald’s DrivenCommercial Vehicle of the Year 2014
  • Automobile Association and Motoring Writers’ Guild “Best in Class” 2012, 2013, and 2014
  • AMI and NZ AutoCar “OVERALL Car of the Year 2011”*
  • *The first time a ute has ever won Overall Car of the Year

    Ford is the one to watch in 2015 Ford New Zealand is positioned to extend the success of the Ford Ranger across its other vehicle lines with a record number of smart new vehicles being introduced this year.

    “It’s also a busy year full stop for Ford New Zealand,” said Holter. “While the Ford Ranger continues to be the Kiwi favourite, we are also launching a record number of new vehicles in 2015, in almost every segment and each with stunning new designs, exciting performance and smart new technologies – some of which have never been in New Zealand before.”

    “Whether you’re looking for a new vehicle, just interested in new vehicles, or you’re the competition, Ford is the one to watch in 2015.”

    So far in 2015, Ford New Zealand has introduced the New Ford Falcon XR8 and XR6, the new Ford Territory, All New Ford Mondeo, New Focus ST and Focus Wagon. These are soon to be followed by the rest of the New Focus range, the All New Ford Everest - a brand new, seven-seat 4WD SUV, and the New Ranger. And of course, toward the end of the year the All New Mustang arrives!
