Building on the success of the current Ford Ranger, the New Ford Ranger has arrived into New Zealand and in significant numbers! More than 1000 new Ford Rangers are rolling onto Auckland’s wharfs this month.
Corey Holter, Managing Director Ford New Zealand, says Ford New Zealand is in a great position to launch the new Ford Ranger.
“We’re very proud of the Ford Ranger and we are very excited to be going into the launch of the new Ranger with great supply and a very healthy mix of variants that marries up to just what Kiwis prefer in utes,” added Holter.
The more than 1000 new Ford Rangers arriving this month include approximately 85 per cent XLT and Wildtrak models and of the 1000 approximately 75 per cent are automatic.
“It’s fair to say we had challenges with initial supply of the current Ranger both in New Zealand and across the entire Asia Pacific region,” said Holter. “A lot if it came from a much higher demand than we anticipated, which might be a good problem for us but not so good from a customer’s perspective. It was frustrating for everyone to have a great vehicle like the Ford Ranger only to tell many customers that they had to wait for theirs to arrive.”
“With that in mind, it’s fantastic to be able to offer, right from launch, just what our customer want and have it on hand. New Rangers are already rolling onto the Auckland wharfs in significant numbers and should start arriving at Ford dealerships within the next few weeks. About now would be a very good time to talk to a dealer.”
Despite initial supply issues, the Ford Ranger has gone on to become not only New Zealand’s number one ute, toppling the Hilux in 2014, but is now in 2015 year-to-date sales New Zealand’s overall number one new vehicle, leaving the Corolla behind.
New Ranger – Ford shifts the posts again
The new Ford Ranger builds upon a solid reputation of capability, innovation and comfort that has helped make the Ranger the new number one vehicle in New Zealand.
The new Ford Ranger features a new-look front end, and a new smart and functional interior. The new Ford Ranger also boasts an array of smart new technologies including Ford’s SYNC 2, the latest generation of Ford’s in-car connectivity system.
SYNC2 gives drivers smarter and safer ways to stay connected. Using natural voice commands, like “temperature 20 degrees”, “play AC/DC” or “I’m hungry”, the driver can control the car’s climate controls, entertainment system and navigation system more easily than ever before. An eight-inch touchscreen places more controls at the driver’s fingertips, with color-coded corners for easy menu navigation.
For extra convenience, the new Ranger has other smart features like internal and external 240-volt power sockets (located in the cab and in the back tray) that can be used to power a laptop computer anywhere, from a work site to a family road trip.
Ford is the one to watch in 2015
With the Ford Ranger taking the lead, Ford New Zealand has begun to extend the success across its other vehicle lines with a record number of smart new vehicles being introduced this year.
“The new Ford Ranger features among a record number of new vehicles we are introducing in 2015,” said Corey Holter, Managing Director, Ford New Zealand. “In almost every segment, we have smart new Ford’s arriving this year; each with stunning new designs, exciting performance and smart new technologies. We’ve recently launched the All New Mondeo; this month it’s the new Ranger and coming up is the New Ford Focus, New Everest and the All New Mustang!”
“Kiwis will see almost an entirely new Ford showroom from 2015.”
