A sophisticated new 8-speed automatic transmission
With improved acceleration and super smooth gear changes, the all new 8-speed automatic transmission is engineered from the ground up to enhance your driving experience and maximise performance. We've replaced the traditional gear lever with a console-mounted rotary gear shift dial. This gives the interior a cleaner, more modern layout. And there's another useful feature: when you park your car, the shifter automatically sets itself to parking mode.

The new and improved 1.5 litre Ford EcoBoost petrol engine is designed to give you all the power you’d expect from much larger engines. Ford EcoBoost technology delivers performance that’s smooth, responsive and rewarding. To make the engine even more efficient, it now features cylinder deactivation. This shuts off a cylinder when torque demand is low, such as on a highway When torque demand increases, the cylinder springs back to life to give you the power you need.

Paddle Shifters are available with the Ford Focus automatic transmission (ST-Line X & ST only). This racing-inspired technology puts swift, effortless gear changes at your fingertips. And because the Paddle Shifters are mounted on the steering wheel, you can change gear more efficiently when cornering.
A series of smart technologies are designed to protect you, your family and other road users. For example, Active Braking and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestian and Cyclist Detectiondriver-assist-features can warn you of potential collision and even apply the brakes automatically if you dont react in time.
