Ford COVID-19 Announcement

20 October 2021

In line with the New Zealand Government’s announcement on 18th of October 2021, Auckland and Hamilton remains at Level 3 and the rest of New Zealand remains at alert Level 2. We wanted to update you on what this means for Ford.

Under Level 3, our Auckland and Hamilton (Fairview Hamilton only) dealerships are offering contact-less sales and service. Sales teams are available but only via phone or email. The showroom is closed. Fairview branches in Matamata, Cambridge and Te Awamutu continue to operate under Level 2 guidelines. Please contact your local dealer for more details.

In addition, we will continue to support customers in the Auckland in the following ways:

  • Our Customer Relationship Centre will remain contactable 24/7 on 0800 FORD NZ.
  • AA Roadservice, provider of Ford Roadside Assistance for eligible Ford customers, has confirmed they meet the government criteria for an essential service. HOWEVER AA is restricted to providing assistance to call-outs which genuinely involve urgent/essential travel ONLY as per Covid19 guidelines. Please be aware that operating at Level 3 there could also be reduced staffing capacity across the Contact Centre and Roadside teams and it’s possible that customers may potentially experience longer response times than normal.
  • Essential service workers needing vehicle service or repairs should call one of the following three numbers: (09) 271 8520, (09) 271 8526, (09) 271 8528. We request that these numbers are only used by customers who qualify as essential service providers, as defined by the government at the following link: https://covid19.govt.nz/government-actions/covid-19-alert-level/essential-businesses/
  • Our website will continue to be fully active – with customers able to explore our vehicle range, configure their preferred vehicle, and read our latest updates.

For the rest of New Zealand, our other dealerships around the country will be operating under Level 2 guidelines. At all of our NZ locations we want to make sure that you’re as safe as possible when coming to visit. To that end, we’ve put in place strict controls and rules around sanitation, social distancing and contact tracing.

We are happy our dealerships are fully open and welcoming back customers to showrooms at Level 2 around the rest of New Zealand. We will be operating under strict safety guidelines as per the government requirements and additional Ford Motor Company requirements. We will be practicing mandatory mask use inside dealerships and contact tracing. Please sign in with NZ COVID Tracer app upon entry if possible. We will also be maintaining physical distancing between groups of customers and limiting occupancy numbers accordingly.

If you want to go for a test drive? No problem. Our teams can facilitate that in a safe manner, maintaining physical distancing and cleaning of the vehicles. Our team can also facilitate the entire sales process in a contactless manner right through to you taking delivery of your new Ford. Across all aspects and areas of our dealerships, we will be maintaining hygiene measures with staff using gloves, facemasks and regularly cleaning all surfaces, including vehicles.

Our Ford service centres are also open and will be operating with the similar physical distancing, vehicle cleaning and drop off/pick up procedures. Many of our dealerships will also be offering contactless home pick-up and delivery service. Your local Ford dealer service agents can detail the specific process and locations for your dealership when you book your appointment.

We have dedicated teams closely monitoring the coronavirus situation, including the latest directives from New Zealand authorities, and will continue to plan and act accordingly. Once government advice allows, we will restart services.

Our Customer Care Hotline is staffed 7 days a week to receive and respond to your inquiries and concerns. Please feel free to reach out to us either by calling 0800 FORD NZ, by emailing us at info@ford.co.nz

Stay Safe.
