What are the Ford electric vehicle types?
Electric vehicles are categorised as follows:
- Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) uses batteries to power an electric motor along with another type of fuel, such as gasoline.
- Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) are referred to as pure electric vehicles. These vehicles are powered by rechargeable battery packs, with no secondary source of power.
- Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) has a battery motor to assist at low speeds, the main non-electric engine, and the battery is charged through regenerative braking and by the non-electric engine.
- Hybrid - incorporates one or more electric motors to assist the non-electric engine, the battery is charged through regenerative braking and by the non-electric engine.
