Why does the app say "please enter a valid VIN" (Vehicle Identification Number)?

We understand you want to get your connected vehicle linked to the FordPass app as soon as possible, however if you are presented with this error message, it may be due to a small delay in data transfer in Ford’s internal systems. If you have just collected your brand-new Ford from a dealership, please wait 24 hours and try to add the VIN again.
