AUCKLAND, New Zealand, September 9, 2026 - Ford today outlined the next era of its business in New Zealand at ‘Ford Uncovered,’ a major media and dealer event held in Melbourne, Australia.

At the event, a set of new multi-energy products were announced spanning commercial and adventure vehicle lines, alongside an ambition to double coverage of the New Zealand vehicle market within three years - giving customers more choice and stronger support, no matter what they drive a Ford for.

The company revealed the highly anticipated Bronco Basecamp, an adventure SUV powered by Ford's first super hybrid extended-range electrified powertrain. This accelerates the company’s presence in the fast-growing electrified SUV segment when it arrives in the second half of 2027.

Ford also confirmed launch plans for the all-electric Transit City van, the next evolution of the Transit family, with customer deliveries beginning in January 2027.

"For 90 years, Ford has been part of the fabric of everyday life of New Zealanders, helping to build this nation and standing beside them during good times and bad," said Annaliese Atina, Managing Director of Ford New Zealand. "This event is about showing what’s next for our customers, and we’re just getting started."

A strong foundation, and a bigger ambition

These announcements build on an impressive track record of sales. Ranger has been New Zealand’s best-selling vehicle for ten consecutive years1 and remains number one year-to-date2, while Everest leads the large SUV segment2 and Mustang is the country's No.1 sports car2.

Atina said that strength is the platform for a much bigger ambition. "Today, we only play in around 30 per cent of the market. Our ambition is to double that to more than 60 per cent within three years. Ford also aims for over 90% of its volume sold to be all-new or significantly refreshed by the end of 2030. We’ll do this by broadening our portfolio and bringing in more zero-tailpipe and low-emission vehicles, without asking customers to compromise on capability, lifestyle or quality," she said.

"What makes us different is choice - across price points and powertrains - backed by a brand and a trusted dealer network," Atina said. "Customers deserve the peace of mind of a local legacy, a global footprint, and one of the country's largest service networks."

Local knowledge, global reach

Innovation and trust have always defined Ford in New Zealand - backed by more than 28 dealers nationwide and decades of grassroots community partnerships. That same spirit now extends to how Ford sources its vehicles, drawing on a global footprint to bring customers the best vehicle at the right price and speed, without compromising Ford's unique DNA of driving dynamics and capability.

"Our future direction is clear: greater choice for customers, deeper loyalty to the Ford brand and a more diverse lineup," Atina said. "The best is ahead, and our customers will be the ones who benefit. The next chapter of Ford in New Zealand is exciting and there is more to come."
