How do I perform a SYNC Master or Factory reset?
Important: A SYNC master/factory reset erases all stored data. This includes FordPass Connect Modem activation, vehicle authorisations, call history, text messages, previously paired devices and navigation favourites.
If you want to remove authorised users only, visit the Remove Authorised Users topic.
Select your in-vehicle screen for the appropriate steps.
SYNC 3
- Access your vehicle.
- Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, and in park.
- Select Settings from the bottom panel of your vehicle screen.
- Tap General.
- Scroll down and select Reset.
- Tap Master/Factory Reset.
Notes:
- A message will appear advising of the settings that will be removed during the reset.
- Select Continue to complete the reset.
- Select Cancel to void your request.
- All previously authorized users will receive a Vehicle Access Removed notification in their FordPass App account and will no longer be able to access the vehicle.
- Should you wish to re-activate your vehicle, visit the FordPass Modem Activation topic.
SYNC 4
- Access your vehicle.

- Select the Settings tab.
- Scroll down and select Reset.
- Tap Factory Reset.
